Air India is making Frankfurt its hub for some of its West-bound flights. Passengers bound for Newark from Delhi will be transferred to Mumbai-Newark flight at Frankfurt. Likewise, passengers from Mumbai who wish to fly to Chicago will be transferred to the Delhi-Chicago flight at Frankfurt. Later this year, the carrier plans to launch non-stop flights to San Francisco from Delhi, which would take the total number of non-stop flights of Air India to three.
The daily flight from Chicago to Delhi via Frankfurt would have a convenient departure time and would help all the passengers traveling to and from Chicago to Delhi to connect with Indian destinations through Indian Airlines. All flights would be operated by brand new Boeing 777-300 (Extended Range) aircraft in a three-class configuration, offering a total of 342 seats.
