Chacko Pallathucheril has been unanimously elected as the President of KITA (Kerala Information Technology Alliance) for the year 2009-10. Pallathucheril is an information Security specialist. He has held numerous managerial positions at Accenture, Deloitte and Sun Microsystems and has consulted at Hewlett-Packard and several Silicone valley startups. He currently lives in New York City.
Others who are elected to the team include Million Jose as Vice- President/Secretary, Boby Thomas as Treasurer, Tom Vellaringattu as Publicity Chair, Jose Jacob as chapter/Membership chair and Mathew Jose for the Professional Development chair.
The Kerala Information Technology Alliance ( KITA) was formally established in New York, USA in September 2007. KITA is a not for profit, non political and non partisan global organization formed by the vision of Malayalee immigrants and their generations who have been in the forefront of the IT revolution in USA. These entrepreneurs, business and technology leaders, and academia, with a collective experience of thousands of person years, have contributed to the economic growth, productivity, governance, and quality of life in this country. A voluntary body, KITA hopes to provide the network and connections for Malayalees and IT professionals worldwide to tap their collective intelligence and to innovate.
In 2008, KITA conducted number of seminar/training sessions in Cochin University and Trivandrum Techno Park for the finishing graduates. One of the objectives of the organization is to help the state of Kerala to become a premium IT hub along with other southern states and to help those Engineering and Computer Science graduates to compete on equal footing in the global market place. KITA also has sponsored an Entrepreneurship seminar in June 2008 in New Jersey to the benefit of those IT professionals who are looking into business startups.
Along with the newly elected Executive Committee, a Board of Directors has also been appointed. They include George Abraham, Chief Technology Officer, United Nations Pension Fund, Antony Satyadas, Chief Competitive Marketing Officer, IBM, Suresh Kumar, CEO, NexAge Technologies, Daniel Mohan, Chairman, IDSi International and Vinson Palathingal, President & CEO, Amaram Technology Corp.
