Mahendra Shah is an architect, entrepreneur, businessmen and a cartoonist. Born in 1945, he migrated to the U.S. in 1974. While devoting his professional life to real estate and retail businesses, he has remained an enthusiastic contributor to the Pittsburgh area Indian community. Over the years, he has recorded his humorous observations on the plight of Indian immigrants in America in the form of cartoons. Long appreciated, his work was originally published by Pittsburgh's local Gujarati magazine and is now featured in several publications, web sites and exhibitions. Shah published his first book, a compilation of over 265 English and Gujarati cartoons, Ame American Amdavadi. All profits from the book are donated to designated charities under Mahendra Shah's program, "Art for Charity."
