Time to declare Pakistan a terrorist state

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen addressing a news conference at the US embassy after meeting with the Pakistani leaders in Islamabadally"
When Osama Bin Laden was killed in
a large, custom-built million dollar
mansion where he had been living
for five years in an area that included Pakistan's
military academy, Islamabad's duplicity
was proven without any doubt. It is
preposterous to think the world would buy the
explanation that Osama lived so close to an
army compound and 30 miles from that country's
capital and that Pakistani leaders, its
army and the ISI knew nothing!
To cap it all, our Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton on a visit to Pakistan commented to
reporters, "US had absolutely no evidence that
anyone at the highest level of the Pakistani
government knew the whereabouts of Osama
bin Laden." She also said she would return to
Washington "ever more committed" to the relationship.
What did she mean by "more committed?"
Did she mean that more of our tax dollars
would be sent to our enemies? Is she out of
her mind? Of course Pakistani bigwigs knew.
Everyone there knew for years. Come on,
Hillary, either you are delusional or you're
only fooling yourself with your lies. Let me
ask you one thing Ms. Clinton - is not the discovery
of bin Laden in Abbottabad proof that
Pakistan's leaders have been enabling al Qaida
and the Taliban? How many 911's will it take
for the US to stop giving aid to that two timing,
terrorist-harboring corrupt nation called
Pakistan that shelters terrorists for money and
on the other hand bilks the US of billions of
dollars all in the name of fighting terrorism?
More than $20 billion has been given to
Pakistan since Sept. 11, 2001. President
Obama is proposing almost $3 billion in aid
for its "ally" in the War on Terror for fiscal
year 2012. That includes: $1.6 billion for police
and military; $150 million for what the
State Department calls "good government and
democracy building"; $122 million for health,
AIDS and "family planning"; $145 million for
education. The rest goes to economic development
and humanitarian assistance. And yet,
a 2010 BBC poll had found that 52 percent of
Pakistanis disliked the U.S. So why do we
continue to support Pakistan?
Congressman Dana Rohrbacher, a key lawmaker,
has rightfully introduced a bill in the
House of Representatives to stop American
aid to Pakistan, saying the killing of Al Qaeda
chief in Abbottabad has made it clear that Islamabad
concealed, protected and enabled
him for many years. "We can no longer afford
this foolishness," he said after introducing the
'Defund United States Assistance to Pakistan
Act of 2011.' "The time has come for us to
stop subsidizing those who actively oppose us.
Pakistan has shown itself not to be America's
ally."
The bill says that terrorist outfits based in
Pakistan, especially Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT),
had been responsible for terrorist strikes inside
India including the Mumbai terrorist attack in
November 2008, in which 166 people including
six American nationals were killed. It outlines
several accounts of Pakistan's duplicitous
behavior toward the US including recent reports
of the Pakistani leadership lobbying with
Afghan President Hamid Karzai to move
away from "imperial" America and to embrace
Communist China.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral
Michael Mullen said the Pakistani intelligence
service has had a long relationship with
the Haqqani terror group that is right now
"killing Americans" in Afghanistan.
In 1998, Pakistan's military and intelligence
services facilitated the transfer of an unexploded
American Tomahawk missile recovered
by Taliban to China. The Chinese were
then able to reverse-engineer the missile and
dissect its components allowing them to learn
its vulnerabilities and defeat its capabilities.
In the face of all this evidence, it will be
foolish of the US to continue to aid Pakistan
because Islamabad has been treating us like
fools. We've been giving money to someone
who obviously is working against the basic interests
and national security interests of America
and its new allies i.e., the terrorist attack
in Mumbai, India. Burying our head in sand
regarding Pakistan's double game will not
make America's problem disappear. And we
as Indian Americans need to rescue US from
the clutches of that untrustworthy "friend" and
unite to boycott terrorist-harboring nations.
