News Corner: US Born Actress in B'wood!
US born Gayatri Patel, who also won the Miss India Georgia title and was the first runner up at Miss India USA, has made her Bollywood debut with the film Let’s Dance in which she plays a dance teacher who motivates a group of underprivileged children.
After Gayatri and her family shifted base from the US to India, she spent time taking acting tips from Satyadev Dubey and Makrand Deshpande, did an acting workshop with Veena Mehta, and played the role of Ophelia in Neeraj Kabir’s play Hamlet. She also did three music videos for Venus opposite Inder Kumar and Jugal Hansraj. Eventually, National Award winning editor Aarif Sheikh decided to launch Gayatri as the lead in his directorial debut Let’s Dance. Malaika Arora Khan has gone ahead and labeled Gayatri Patel as "the dancing
diva of GenX."
Way to go, Gayatri!
Sneak Preview: Love Aaj Kal

After Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met, Imtiaz Ali is back with Love Aaj Kal. The film stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika
Padukoune, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Rahul Khanna, and
Manojt Singh.
Love Aaj Kal meshes a love story from aaj (2009) with a
love story from kal (1965)—Imtiaz Ali juxtaposes the love
story of Jai and Meera, a modern-day couple in London, with
the love story of Veer Singh and Harleen. Veer struggles to
understand how Jai treats love as a practical matter, as a
financial transaction, and Jai finds cannot comprehend how
Veer Singh could be so silly about Harleen during his youth.
After winning the hearts of both critics and movie-goers
with Jab We Met, here’s hoping Imtiaz Ali can work magic
again with Love Aaj Kal!
