Emraan’s New Hobby…

Seems like Emraan has gotten very interested in taking up painting after portraying the role of a painter in Raaz—The Mystery Continues. In his upcoming film,Tum Mile, Emraan will be playing the role of a painter again. However, this time Emraan will be painting for real.

Tum Mile, directed by Kunal Deshmukh (Jannat: In Search of Heaven), is an intense love story set during the floods in Mumbai on July 26,2005. The film also stars Soha Ali Khan, who was recently seen in 99.

99 & Frozen Release During Strike…

Yup, the strike between producers and multiplex owners is still going on, and who knows how many weeks it’ll continue... Nonetheless, Frozen, directed by Shivajee Chandrabhushan and 99 directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK did release despite the strike.

Frozen, set in Ladakh’s winter is a 110 black-and-white film starring Danny Denzongpa, Gauri, Shakeel Khan, Yashpal Sharma, Rajendranath Zutshi, Shilpa Shukla, and Shivajee Chandrabhushan among other actors. The film is about Karma (Danny Denzongpa) who makes apricot jam but is acquiring debt since he is not able to compete with apricot makers using machines. Moneylenders offer to write off his loans in exchange for his daughter (Gauri).To make matters worse, the Indian Army sets a camp outside his house, making it difficult for him to sell off his land for money. Frozen, while receiving flack for its slow pace has still been receiving a lot of praise for Shanker Raman’s stunning cinematography.

Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s 99 stars Kunal Khemu, Boman Irani, Soha Ali Khan, Cyrus Broacha, Simone Singh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Amit Mistry and Vinod Khanna.

The film has been promoted as a comedy-thriller set against a backdrop of cricket in the year 1999. 99 revolves around two robbers (Cyrus Broacha and Kunal Khemu) who have an illegal SIM cards business. They rob a car belonging to a gangster (Mahesh Manjrekar) inviting much trouble.

Well, looks like Hindi film viewers have a few options amidst the Bollywood strike…
